Dreaming of a pink house? Picking the best pink exterior paint colors for your home is the difference between a sophisticated, elevated pink home and something a little too “Barbie dreamhouse.”

Should I Paint My Home Pink?
If you’re considering a pink exterior, then chances are you’ve also wondered whether pink is actually a good house color. The good news is: a pink exterior can be absolutely beautiful! I especially love pink exterior paint for stucco homes (Article), beach cottages or wood-shingled homes.
But no matter what type of home you have, the key to success is choosing a pink paint color that complements your home’s hard finishes, including your roof, any brick or stone, and even your driveway or patio.
The client’s home pictured in today’s post, for example, had warm red pavers that we had to work with. Some pink paint colors would have clashed, but we were able to find the perfect hue for this home!
Sample Pink Exterior Paint Colors
We always recommend that you test paint colors (Article) in your home because lighting can completely change a color, both on interiors and exteriors.
In the old days, this meant we painted a large poster board with sample pots and a huge mess.
Now we have a better way to test paint, with Samplize Peel-and-Stick samples!
- Samples pre-painted with 2 coats of real paint from the manufacturer.
- Large 9” x 14” samples to see the color better in the lighting.
- Delivered overnight
- Colors are accurate
- Less expensive than painting a large poster board with sample pots
- No mess, and no toxic paint to dispose of
I use these in my color consulting practice for exact results. Discover Samplize peel-and-stick paint samples and sample all your favorite pink exterior house colors via the link below.
Project Spotlight: Palm Beach Pink Exterior Color Scheme
@Grace13media
The client’s Florida home we’re featuring today is a project I won’t soon forget! The wife wanted a pink home, but the husband wanted to make sure the color wasn’t too bright or saturated.
Additionally, the home boasted a stunning paver driveway that complemented the terracotta roof. We had to ensure that we picked a contrasting pink color for the home’s exterior so that it didn’t look like a big blob of pink. We could have done this with a darker pink hue, but decided to pick a lighter one – Sherwin-Williams Abalone Shell (Sample) – and it came out beautiful!
The result? A light, but very warm pink exterior paint color that looks beautiful both in the warmer light at the end of the day and the cooler light of the morning. In the afternoon with bright sunlight, the home looks warm and almost peachy, reflecting some of the warmth of the pavers.
In the morning light with overcast skies, pictured below, the pink exterior looks much cooler but just as lovely. This is the perfect example of why it’s so important to test your paint colors at different times of day.
This home is also a good reminder that it’s best to work with a color that complements your hard finishes. In this case, we worked with what we had with the warm pavers and roof instead of forcing another color that may not have been as pretty.
You can really see the power of exterior paint when you compare the pink exterior color palette to the home’s original white one. Previously, the home was painted with Benjamin Moore White Dove (Article), a lovely soft off-white.
White Dove is a gorgeous color, but white is like a mirror, especially outside. In this case, it looked yellowish and muddy because it was reflecting the earthy pink pavers.
In the back of the home, White Dove looked a bit dirty because it was reflecting the gray deck tile as well as the green foliage.

With a pink exterior, the back patio comes to life!
Picking a pink exterior color scheme truly transformed this home! Read on for all the details of this palette.
Sherwin-Williams Abalone Shell Exterior Body Paint
The pink exterior paint color we picked is a light, delicate pink called Sherwin-Williams Abalone Shell (Sample). This color was perfect because it struck the balance between a soft pink and a more neutral beige with pinkish undertones.
Remember: pink can change a lot with the light, so you need to make sure the color you pick looks great in all lights.
Sherwin-Williams Pearly White Exterior Trim
We chose Sherwin-Williams Pearly White (Article) for the home’s exterior trim. Pearly White is a FABULOUS color for white trim for exteriors (Article). It looks like a bright white color without harshness.
With an LRV of 77, it’s on the lighter side for an exterior white paint color but it still has enough pigment to work well in bright sunshine. We especially love to pair Pearly White exterior trim with red brick (Article) and other warm finishes, like the earthy pavers and tile roof on this home.
Benjamin Moore Hale Navy Front Door
A Benjamin Moore Hale Navy (Article) front door is a beautiful, classic thing. It’s a truly iconic color that is slightly grayed out and muted, but comes to life in the sun. I consider Hale Navy a dark neutral and it’s one of our favorite front door paint colors (Article). It looks gorgeous alongside the pale pink stucco on this home.

- Sherwin-Williams Pearly White (Sample): Fascia, soffits, gutters, trim, stucco trim, paintable window frames, side doors, garage doors

Other Pink Exterior Color Palettes
We love the pink exterior color palette our client chose, but we also created four other pink color schemes that would have been lovely. Use these palettes – presented as Photoshop renderings of our client’s home – to help find the perfect exterior pink house paint for your home.
Sherwin-Williams Roycroft Rose Exterior Color Scheme
This is a stunning medium pink exterior palette. SW Roycroft Rose (Sample) is a darker, warmer pink that pairs beautifully with the driveway. I adore the bold black accents in this look, too! SW Black Magic (Sample) is a deep, neutral black that adds a bold, modern touch to this color scheme.
- SW Roycroft Rose (Sample): Stucco body, trim around front door and sidelights
- SW Pearly White (Sample): Fascia, soffits, gutters, trim, stucco trim, paintable window frames
- SW Black Magic (Sample): Front door, side doors, garage doors
Sherwin-Williams Constant Coral Exterior Color Scheme
This pink exterior is slightly brighter and more colorful, and features a bold, colorful front door. Painted with Sherwin-Williams Constant Coral (Sample), this is definitely the brightest of these pink exterior palettes. I love the way the warm coral hue looks alongside the warm, blue front door.
- SW Constant Coral (Sample): Stucco body, trim around front door and sidelights
- SW Pearly White (Sample): Fascia, soffits, gutters, trim, stucco trim, paintable window frames, side doors, garage doors
- SW Bunglehouse Blue (Sample): Front door
Sherwin-Williams Pinky Beige Exterior Color Scheme
This is a soft, muted, and earthy pink palette, which I also love. Sherwin-Williams Pinky Beige (Sample) is exactly what it sounds like: a beautiful, earthy pink exterior paint color that borders on beige. With this palette, you can choose whether you want to go bold and bright or soft and subtle.
In the first version of this palette, we used SW Pinky Beige as the stucco body color, pairing it with Sherwin-Williams Kestrel White (Sample) trim and Sherwin-Williams Artichoke (Sample) front door.
- SW Pinky Beige (Sample): Stucco body, trim around front door and sidelights
- SW Kestrel White (Sample): Fascia, soffits, gutters, trim, stucco trim, paintable window frames, side doors, garage doors
- SW Artichoke (Sample): Front door
The more subtle version of this palette uses Sherwin-Williams Kestrel White (Sample) on the stucco body and SW Pinky Beige (Sample) on the trim for a fun take on the look. We used SW Pure White (Article) for a white exterior trim color. I also gave an option for a brighter green door here, painted with Sherwin-Williams Leapfrog (Sample), but SW Artichoke would work as well.
- SW Pure White (Sample): Paintable window frames
- SW Pinky Beige (Sample): Fascia, soffits, gutters, downspouts, trim, stucco trim, side doors, garage doors
- SW Kestrel White (Sample): Stucco body, trim around front door and sidelights
- SW Leapfrog (Sample): Front door

Key Learning Points
Pink exterior color palettes can be a bold, colorful approach to painting your home. Keep in mind:
- Pink hues can change a lot in the sunshine, so be sure to test your paint colors carefully and at all times of day.
- Keep your hard finishes in mind when choosing a pink paint color, such as your brick, stone, roof, pavers and more. It’s much easier to find a color that complements these finishes than it is to adjust hard finishes to work with the paint color.
- When painting a home pink, keep the overall palette simple. Pink exterior paint is already a bold choice, so it’s best to keep the rest of the palette minimal.
Remember: NEVER, EVER use paint matches from a different brand than the one specified. Results are poor and there are no standards for the sheens. Even though your painter may truly believe it can be done, don’t do it. See results from paint matching here.
No matter what, always test your paint colors. It’s a standard best practice. Whenever I test my paint colors, they are perfect, and when I don’t test they turn out wrong. Learn how to test your paint colors here.
