Looking for a modern yet classic exterior paint color palette? Get the look with Sherwin-Williams Accessible exterior paint and warm brown accents.
Sherwin-Williams Accessible Beige is a gorgeous exterior paint color option if you want a bright color palette but don’t want it to look too stark. Outdoors, Accessible Beige looks like a warm, soft white and can work on just about any style home.
We’ve used Accessible Beige in many exterior color palettes before, both as a body color and as a white exterior trim color. One of our favorite exterior paint projects (Article) paired SW Accessible Beige, SW Tony Taupe and SW Urbane Bronze for a low-contrast color scheme.
The home we’re featuring in today’s post, however, is very different and I couldn’t wait to share this transformation! This home is very unique, with a combination of contemporary and Tudor-style (Article) features. The Accessible Beige color scheme we designed has truly brought this home to life!

Is SW Accessible Beige a good exterior paint color?
It absolutely is! I love using Accessible Beige (Color Review Article) when a client wants a white color palette but doesn’t want it to look cold.
With an LRV of 58, Accessible Beige is darker than a typical white or off-white paint color. This lower LRV is a big part of what makes it ideal for exteriors. Even in the bright sun Accessible Beige looks white but stays warm and inviting thanks to its green undertones.
Is Accessible Beige outdated?
No, it’s completely classic! Accessible Beige is one of those colors that really never goes out of style, but it is having quite the moment right now! In our practice we’ve seen more and more homeowners opting for warm, beige paint colors (Article) instead of the white, off-white and gray hues that were popular over the last several years.
And while Accessible Beige is currently trending, it’s also the kind of color that goes with just about anything. So we don’t see it becoming outdated any time soon.
Tips for Using Accessible Beige Exterior Paint
If you’re considering an Accessible Beige exterior color palette for your home, use these tips to choose the right paint colors.
What colors coordinate with SW Accessible Beige?
Because Accessible Beige has warm, green undertones it looks great with other warm hues. I love to pair Accessible Beige with darker colors within the same color family, such as bronze and brown.
In the home we’re featuring in today’s post, for example, we use Accessible Beige with a very dark bronze color to create a softer, warmer take on a classic black-and-white color palette.
What is the best trim color for Accessible Beige?
If you plan to use Sherwin-Williams Accessible Beige exterior paint for your siding, then you have a variety of options for an exterior trim color.
Accessible Beige looks very light outdoors and can be used as a white exterior trim color (Article) itself. You can use it with a very light white such as Greek Villa or Alabaster,
However, my preference is to use Accessible Beige exterior paint with a darker trim color, as we’ve done in the home featured in the project spotlight below.
Project Spotlight: SW Accessible Beige Exterior Color Palette with SW Black Fox Exterior Trim
This home is so beautiful and really special. It sits on a corner lot and while the front is completely contemporary, the side and back have Tudor features. For a home like this, it’s important to choose a color scheme that will look great for all sides of the home and pull the different styles together.
This home’s original color palette was not significantly different than the new one, but is a great example of how even small shifts in paint can completely transform a home.
The original stucco color was darker and old-fashioned, and it didn’t look quite right with the warm, taupe-y stone. The wood accents on the home had strong red tones, which tied in with the red metal roofs.
This palette was really too warm and just didn’t look modern enough. By choosing a lighter stucco color and updating the darker accent colors, this home looks completely different!
Sherwin-Williams Accessible Beige Stucco
The original stucco color was a bit too dark and too warm for the stone. We lightened the color with SW Accessible Beige (Sample) in a flat sheen, which paired perfectly with the stone.
The original metal window frames were beige, not white, which flowed nicely with the stone and worked well with Accessible Beige.
Pro Tip: Make sure that you paint stucco with a masonry primer like Loxon to let it breathe. Follow your local Sherwin-Williams dealer recommendations.
Sherwin-Williams Black Fox Exterior Trim & Roof
One of the biggest changes we made to this home was painting the metal roof. We used a warm, dark bronze paint color called Sherwin-Williams Black Fox (Sample). We originally considered keeping the metal roofs in their original red, but they really needed a good painting.
In the end, making the switch to bronze completely transformed this home! We used the same paint color on the gutters, downspouts, corbels, and fascia. The homeowners also selected a very modern bronze and glass garage door for the home, which tied in with this accent hue perfectly.
Sherwin-Williams Dark Brown Wood Trim
This home also featured beautiful wood trim. The original wood had a good amount of red in it, which made sense with the red metal roofs. Because we painted the roof and updated the garage door, we knew we wanted to update this wood trim too.
We went with Sherwin-Williams Dark Brown (Sample) for these elements, which helped bring the whole color palette together!
Sample this SW Accessible Beige Exterior Color Palette
- Sherwin-Williams Accessible Beige: Stucco
- Sherwin-Williams Black Fox: Metal roof, fascia, downspouts, gutters
- Sherwin-Williams Dark Brown: Front door, columns, soffits, garage overhand ceiling, front porch ceiling, pergola, corbels
We always recommend that you test paint colors on your home because lighting can completely change color, both in interiors and exteriors.
In the old days, this meant we painted a large poster board with sample pots and a huge mess.
Now we have a better way to test paint, with Samplize Peel-and-Stick samples!
- Samples pre-painted with 2 coats of real paint from the manufacturer.
- Large 9” x 14” samples to see the color better in the lighting.
- Delivered overnight
- Colors are accurate
- Less expensive than painting a large poster board with sample pots
- No mess, and no toxic paint to dispose of

Key Learning Points
Sherwin-Williams Accessible Beige is a beautiful exterior paint color that can help a home look updated while still being very classic and timeless.
- SW Accessible Beige has warm green undertones with flashes of taupe, is very muted and much darker than most white or off-white paint colors. All of this helps it stay warm even in bright sunshine, ensuring your home won’t look too stark or bright.
- Accessible Beige exterior paint pairs really well with other paints in the same color family. For this palette, we paired Accessible Beige with SW Dark Brown wood accents and SW Black Fox trim and roofs.
- Accessible Beige can also work well as an exterior white trim color for homes with darker body colors.
As always, don’t forget to test your paint colors! The easiest way to sample Accessible Beige (and any paint color for that matter) is via SAMPLIZE. Their peel-and-stick paint samples are easy to use and true to color. With Samplize you can easily see how different shades look on your unique wall.
One more thing… We do not recommend that you try to paint match Accessible Beige or any other Sherwin-Williams paints with Benjamin Moore, Behr, or any other manufacturer. Paint color formulas are difficult to duplicate, and whites are especially hard to get right. Read more about paint matching here (Article).
